About Us
We are Loopy Limited. Here is our story...
Loopy, Ltd. is really the stage name for Mitch Meyer. Intent on being a small shop Loopy Ltd. has still bought, sold, developed, built, refurbished and demolished over a million square feet of real estate. Loopy Ltd. has a solid reputation in the local real estate community and probably known more for complicated and audacious projects as opposed to mainstream cookie-cutter projects. If it’s something that everybody else is doing it’s unlikely you will find Loopy Ltd. We're happy to say we march to a different drummer.
Loopy, Ltd was born in the days of the RTC while the savings and loans were dying. “Buy low’ was the theme song of the time and Mitch cleared out his savings to buy everything he could afford. He eventually sold, refinanced or leveraged his RTC properties and started purchasing underperforming assets. When underperforming assets became harder to find Mitch turned to development and some minor land speculation. Due to his strong feelings about the rebirth of urban areas and an equally strong dislike of suburban sprawl most of Loopy’s investments are close to downtown or in older mature neighborhoods. Loopy Ltd. plans to ride the urban wave for the foreseeable future. This trend will probably lead Loopy, Ltd into green buildings and investigating the potential of subsidies and public/private partnerships.
Mitch keeps his ear to the ground and stays active with boards, commissions, task forces, and member organizations. Mitch, either alone or through Loopy, Ltd. has been a member, is still a member; has been on the board or is still on the board of the following organizations:
Entrepreneurs’ Organization, American Subcontractors Association, Building Owner’s and Managers Association, American Petroleum Institute, Builders Exchange, Rotary Club, Downtown Alliance, City of San Antonio Planning Commission, San Antonio Development Agency, Urban Land Institute, Vest Rights Task Force, Boy Scouts of America, Our Lady of the Lake University, Town Club, St. Anthony de Padua, Audubon Society and Society of Petroleum Engineers.
